Million Dollar Bacon Brussels Sprouts

Every time I hear someone say they don't like Brussels sprouts, I think, "Yeah, but have you ever tried CRISPY Brussels sprouts?" Trust me, these are certainly not equal to the mundane, steamed Brussels sprouts that often get a bad rap. Picture this: tender, bite-sized sprouts roasted to golden perfection, boasting a delightful crunch with each savory bite. The outer leaves turn wonderfully crisp, their delicate char adding a tantalizing smokiness. The insides remain tender and subtly sweet, perfectly complementing the deliciously caramelized exterior.

For this recipe, you will need only a few ingredients:

  • Brussels Sprouts (fresh gets crispier in the oven, but frozen will also be delicious)

  • Bacon

  • Olive Oil

  • Brown Sugar

  • Maple Syrup

  • Cayenne Pepper

  • Paprika

  • Red Pepper Flakes

Brussels sprouts have long been the underdogs of the vegetable world. Many people turn up their noses at the mere mention of these tiny cruciferous vegetables, wrinkling their faces in disgust. However, beloved readers, let me tell you that the Brussels sprouts we have discovered are nothing short of extraordinary. Roasted to tender perfection, they offer a delightful combination of caramelized edges and a delicate, nutty flavor. Paired with a hint of brown sugar and spiced bacon, these sprouts transcend all preconceived notions. Even the staunchest vegetable skeptics will be converted with just one bite. So, dear readers, set aside your prejudices and give Brussels sprouts a chance. Trust me, these ones are simply too good to resist.

After tasting the Million Dollar Bacon at First Watch, I couldn't resist the urge to bring together the irresistible flavors with crispy roasted Brussels sprouts. This delectable combination is sure to convert even the most adamant Brussels sprout haters. The caramelized sweetness of brown sugar pairs perfectly with the savory, smoky notes of spiced bacon. As the Brussels sprouts roast to crispy perfection, they absorb those enticing flavors, creating a side that is both indulgent and satisfying.
